Divecalc 6.4.0 (20240719)

• FINA-2024 rules.
• Note on degree of difficulty: new FINA rules define degree of difficulty computation for armstand inward dives, and this version of Divecalc computes the DD according to the rules. However, previous versions of Divecalc also did compute DD for armstand inward dives, even though it was not then supported by FINA formula. Therefore the DD computed by previous versions does not match the new 2024 formula.
• Support for detection of newer Java installations and OpenJDK installations on Windows.
• Possibly improved macOS support. Might still not work correctly, due to how Java is supported on macOS.
• Settings: allow changing between Java UI themes.
• Settings: added two "dark" UI themes (variants of Java Nimbus).

• Support for user defined rules. This initial version is very limited, and this functionality will be enhanced in the future.
• Changing the degree of difficulty of a dive manually is now more reliable. In earlier versions Divecalc would reset the DD back to the calculated DD very easily. Now the manually edited DD does not change. The DD can be reset back to the original by removing the edited DD. This functionality makes it possible for the referee to decide what DD to use in case it is not entirely clear what is the correct value (the DD tables supplied by FINA may contain entries that are different from the DD formula).
• Fixed changing the order of events in an event group.
• Fixed a problem when importing participants, and the source file has a team with no name.
• Competition XML format now contains unique identifiers for participants, officials and teams. When used with online competition entry, these entries are identified consistently across competitions.

The participants can be managed through the nationality or through the club. The nationality of the team is also used in reports.

  Previously Divecalc considered a dive to be failed if technical judges were zero after penalties. That is: if technical judges awarded two points, and the referee declared a penalty of two points, Divecalc considered the dive to be failed, regardless of what synchronized judges awarded.

  Now Divecalc will consider a dive to be failed if judges award zero points, before any penalties are checked.

• CAVEAT: Divecalc does not currently support FINA synchronized diving rule D 9.6: it is not possible to assign any penalties to synchronized judges. If this should occur in competition, the operator must carry out the deductions by hand.
